Originally written for unaccompanied violin, the very popular LOUISIANA BLUES STRUT: A CAKEWALK was recorded by Ashley Horne on Cedille Records “Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson: A Celebration.” This arrangement for solo violin with chamber orchestra accompaniment by David Krivit is a great toe-tapping showpiece for any violinist, whether for the middle of the program or as an encore. And the well-written accompaniment creates a wonderful balance between the soloist and orchestra.
