Description
The bass guitar was invented in the 1930 s in Seattle Washington by musician and inventor Paul Tutmarc. Tutmarc originally was manufacturing lap steel guitars. From there he developed the first electric string bass. It was known as the Model 736 Bass Fiddle. The bass being transformed into a guitar form made them easy to hold and transport. In the 1950 s Leo Fender took it a step further by developing the first mass-produced electric bass. He introduced his Fender Precision Bass in 1957 and it quickly became a copied industry standard. Bass guitars are used in several styles of music such as jazz, rock, metal, pop, country, and many more.
