Description
Glacier is cast in the form of a five-movement virtuoso concerto inspired by the sweeping panoramic vistas of Montana. Each movement is based on the composer s aural conception of the natural elements found in Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. It was commissioned by the Bozeman Symphony Society in tribute of the 20th anniversary of its Music Director Mathew Savery, who conducted its premiere on March 7, 2015 with Douglas Maher as soloist. It is now available on Naxos CD 8.559824 (see video below). “…a lovely work for electric guitar and orchestra, Glacier – it’s atmospheric, written and performed with great flair in a highly approachable idiom.” – Gramophone, Aug. 2018
