Description
Consoling individuals is a daunting task. Thankfully for the children in Mary Poppins Returns, they receive comfort from the titular character on their mothers passing in the prologue. The Place Where Lost Things Go serves as Mary Poppins answer as to where the childrens mother is after her death. Though most of the soundtrack for Mary Poppins Returns had to be rewritten over and over again, The Place Where Lost Things Go was the first song written and the only one to be kept fully intact by the songwriters. An intelligent move as it turns out, seeing as it became a critically acclaimed ballad that earned an Academy Award Nomination for Best Original Song.
